About Ohio Wesleyan University

Ohio Wesleyan University, also referred to as simply Wesleyan or OWU, is a private liberal arts college in Delaware, which is a city in the US state of Ohio, serving as the county seat of Delaware County, with a population of more than 33 700 inhabitants, as estimated during the 2008 census.

OWU was established in September, 1842, and was founded by Methodist leaders and Central Ohio residents as a nonsectarian institution. `Ohio Wesleyan boasts a rigorous curriculum, exceptionally strong mentoring relationships between students and faculty, and a host of experiential learning opportunities that link the liberal arts to practical realities and prepare students for service and leadership in their careers and communities.`

Athletics

Ohio Wesleyan's athletic teams are known as The Battling Bishops, and they compete in NCAA's Division III, as members of the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC). Their distinctive colors are red and black.
